April 8th SLRA Buder Park Sport Launch

The April 8th SLRA Buder Park Sport Launch was well attended by eleven SLRA members and and a local youth group of 10 kids with rockets in hand and ready to fly. It was a great day for launching rockets with sunny skies and light to moderate winds out of the east. 57 rockets were launched by LCO Dave Pape: Youth Group - 9, Dan Crank - 2, *Gideon Hanson - 2, *Ian Hanson - 2, Charles Barnett - 3, *Dennis Thompson - 5, Dave Kovar - 6, Glen Arens - 7, Doug Probst (The Tall Guy in the White Hat) - 10, and Chris Lagemann - 13. The most spectacular flight of the day was Glen Arens' Red Max. The greatest accomplishment of the day......No rockets landing in trees or water hazards. *=New SLRA Member

Ok fellow SLRA members, 2023 SLRA membership registration is open for business on our website.

Our next meeting is going to be on Tuesday, January 24th, at Fallon's Bar and Grill located at 9200 Olive Blvd. I'm looking forward to our first feasting gathering of 2023.

Maybe......Just Maybe they'll be a High Power Launch before then. Cross your fingers and toes!!!

Happy Rocketeering!!!

Secretary Dave

Location for January SLRA Meeting

At the November SLRA meeting, a motion was made, seconded, and approved to move the SLRA meetings to the Sunset Hills Bandana’s restaurant.  I contacted the Bandana’s corporate office and was informed they now require a $300 minimum on food/drink purchase for use of their basement space. At an average food/drink cost of $20/person, we would need a minimum of 15 members in attendance to achieve the $300 minimum purchase requirement.

Let me know where you think we should have our January SLRA meeting:

1- Return to Olympia

2 - Rose Barrel (Baldwin: Clayton Rd & Kehrs Mill Rd) – No charge, good food/drink and nice banquet room

3- Fallon's (Olive & I-170) – No charge, good food/drink and enclosed banquet room

4 - Bandana's at Sunset Hills

5 - Other

Whichever one receives the most votes is where we have our next meeting

Deadline for input is December 29th

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts

Secretary Dave
