I have to look at my records to be sure but this fall we will host the 14th or 15th October Fly on October 17,18 at Buder Park. Here is a proposed list of events.
Event WF
A RG 20
1/2 A BG 17
1/2 A HD 19
1/2 A SRA 14
Random Duration 10
total WF=80
This list is posted as tentative, if you want to make suggestion, please do. I would like to finalize the list in a week or so. We had discussed partnering with the Science Center and running this on central field in Forest Park but I do not know if we have time to pull that off.
Please note that I do have a small supply of Pnut altimeters that I will allow people to use, on condition that if you damage or lose it you replace it!

In case you have not been in a club meeting recently (like this month) I have proposed stepping in as the Contest Director for NARAM 58 next year in late July. That's one whole week of competition rockets
I have identified a site in SW Missouri that is 3000 acres of pasture near Springfield. It is M capable with an existing 15000 ft waiver. I am currently in the process of developing a bid for the event. I would like to have the organization's help and support behind me on this project as there will be a lot of work involved. A few have given me offers of support but the more people I can count on the better.
What do you think?
If you like this and want to be involved send me an e-mail or give me a call.

The weather forecast for Buder Park continues to look nearly ideal - moderate temperatures and very low wind - so our launch today is still GO and I will be leaving for the park shortly. Please see the previous post for details.
What wind we do have is expected to be out of the east, so I expect to set up the range on the north side of the park, opposite the R/C flyers' pavilion. However, that can always change based on wind direction and other occupants of the park, so if you don't see us at first, please take a loop all the way around the park to look for us. Our launch pad looks like a large red-and-white sawhorse, and there should also be an orange wind sock nearby, so you can look for those landmarks.
One other note - as previously mentioned, launch fees are $3 per person or family. If you are planning to pay with cash rather than PayPal, it would help us out if you can bring singles as I do not have many to make change. Thanks!
At this week's meeting, we discussed the upcoming park launch scheduled for Saturday August 15, and we are GO for launch! As always, please check stlouisrocketry.com for status updates before going to the park.
Setup will begin around 8:30 am and we plan to start flying around 9:00 am. The current weather forecast for Saturday looks very good, with sunny skies and low wind. Although the summer heat is starting to taper off, please remember to prepare for warm weather and bring your sunscreen and drinking water.
As always, the more people who can help set up and tear down, the easier it is on everyone.
As before, we will be collecting launch fees from members and non-members. The fee is $3.00 per person or family, which covers as many flights as you care to make. We accept cash at the launch field, or a PayPal payment to admin@stlouisrocketry.com. If you pay in advance via PayPal, please be able to show us your PayPal receipt (either on paper or on a smartphone/tablet).
We still have a limited number of SLRA shirts for sale, and can accept cash or PayPal as payment from anyone who would like to make a purchase. The orange SLRA ball caps are now SOLD OUT.
Please note that due to our insurance regulations and requirements of St. Louis County Parks, only current members of the National Association of Rocketry or Tripoli Rocketry Association are permitted to fly rockets at our launches. If you are not a member of one of these two organizations, you can still bring your rockets to the park, but a NAR or Tripoli member will have to supervise the preparation of your rocket and then fly it for you using our launch equipment. NAR membership can be obtained online at http://www.nar.org/. Membership is not required if you just want to watch the flights, though. If you are not a NAR or Tripoli member, you will be asked to sign a liability release before participating in the launch. Parents or guardians must sign for children under 18.
We look forward to seeing you at the launch!
Minutes of the August 11, 2015 meeting are now available on the minutes and bylaws page.
