We have two announcements from last night's meeting to share.
First announcement: Our regular monthly launch is scheduled for this coming Saturday (August 13) at Buder Park, weather permitting. Mike Fischer will be running this launch, and the setup time is 8:00 am. If you can arrive a bit early and stay a bit afterwards to help set up and take down the launch equipment, it is always appreciated. The current weather forecast predicts a significant chance of rain on Saturday, so please check the website and/or your email for a cancellation announcement before you make the trip to the park.
For the foreseeable future, we will be setting up our launch pad in the southern half of the park, upwind of the radio control aircraft runways, to avoid interfering with use of the athletic fields in the northern part of the park. Furthermore, if there is an activity taking place on the field adjacent to our launch location (e.g., we are launching from the southeast corner of the park and there is a baseball game on the diamond in the northeast corner), our launch will be restricted to D or smaller motors to remain in compliance with the NAR Safety Code. Please refer to the attached Buder Park map and cooperate with the Range Safety Officer (the person running the launch) if this call needs to be made.
Second announcement: The Greater St. Louis Model Association (GSLMA) have invited us to participate in their annual Air Show on September 17th and 18th. Mike Fischer has stepped up yet again to arrange a static display and demonstration launch for this event. If you are interested in helping out, please email admin@stlouisrocketry.com and I will put you in touch with Mike.
If you have any questions about either of these events, please email admin@stlouisrocketry.com.
