All,
Our model rocket launch tomorrow at Buder Park is still GO - although the weather will probably not be as nice as it was last time. The weather forecast is calling for 17-18 mph winds all day. Per the NAR safety code, we can only fly safely in 20 mph winds or less; although we do not have a way to precisely measure the wind speed at the field, we will be watching it carefully and may have to cut things short for this reason.
Also please note that the setup time for this launch is 9:00 am rather than 8:00 am. As we get into the hot summer months, we will likely revert to an 8:00 am start time so we can get our flying in before heat and humidity become uncomfortable, but that clearly won't be a problem this month!
If you want to attend the launch but will be arriving later than around 10:30 am, please call my mobile phone at (314) 630-7619 to make sure we're still there, and the launch has not been cut short because of the wind. If I don't answer, it is likely because we've closed up and gone home; I will try to update the website from the field in this event but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do so.
Thanks, and hope to see you at the field!
